In one of my previous articles, Getting Started with Semantic Kernel, I’ve touch based on Semantic Kernel ,an open-source development kit that helps you easily build AI agents and integrate the latest AI models.
Similarly, Microsoft has AutoGen, an open-source programming framework for building AI agents.
Now, Microsoft has combined both into a single offering called the Agent Framework

What is Agent Framework:
Agent framework is a comprehensive multi-language framework for building, orchestrating, and deploying AI agents with support for both .NET and Python implementations.
It enables everything from simple chat agents to complex multi-agent workflows using graph-based orchestration.
Migrating from Semantic Kernel/AutoGen to Agent Framework:
- For migration from Semantic Kernel to Agent Framework, refer to the Migration Guide
- For migration from AutoGen to Agent Framework, refer to the Migration Guide
