While setting up the COE Kit Power BI Dashboard, I encountered the following error during report rendering in the Power BI Desktop. The issue was that the Power BI report contained a map visual, and it was not rendering due to a disabled setting.

In this article, I will explain which settings need to be enabled to fix the issue.

Steps to enable the Map visuals :

From the Power BI Desktop

• Navigate to File > Options and settings > Options

• From the Options pane, go to Security tab and click on Map and Filled Map visuals checkbox.

• Close and then reopen ‘Power BI Desktop’.
• Now, the report should load the maps.

• If the above setting does not work, there’s a chance that the Map and Filled Map visuals setting was disabled at the organization level. Ensure that it is enabled in the Admin portal.
